Allawah Retreat Climate

Allawah Retreat is located in the mountain range behind Cairns in Far North Queensland and approximately 1 hour's scenic drive from Cairns airport and the Great Barrier Reef tour departure points.

The retreat is 2,500 ft above sea level so has quite a mild tropical climate without the humidity of the coastal regions like Cairns and Port Douglas.

Rainfall usually falls in the summer months between December to March which allows for clear blue skies for the remainder of the year. This creates clear crisp evenings and perfect skies for star gazing.

Many areas of the Tablelands experience frosts during the winter months but Allawah’s overnight temperature rarely drops below 9°C during the cooler months of July and August.

Winter day time temperatures range from a comfortable 20°C to 25°C whilst summer day time temperatures range from 25°C to 31°C.

The summer months offer warm to hot days but with overnight temperatures dropping to a temperature perfect for comfortable overnight sleeping.

As all lodges have climate control reverse cycle air conditioning plus a log fire, guests have the ability to create the perfect temperature to create a comfortable environment in their lodge during their stay at Allawah Retreat.
