Directions via Kuranda range & Mareeba

From Cairns - driving time approx 1hr 10 min to Allawah Retreat

Follow the Cook Highway north to Smithfield roundabout. Remain in the left lane & follow Highway 1 signs to Kuranda, Mareeba & Atherton Tablelands.

Approaching Mareeba follow the by pass to Atherton along the Kennedy Highway (turning left). Continue along Kennedy Hwy heading south passing through the small township of Walkamin .

Continue along the Kennedy Highway for a further approx 7 km where you cross over the railway line and then Rocky Ck bridge.

Continue a further 500 metres where Rocky Ck War Memorial is located on your left. Turn to your right (the sign says to Frazer Rd ). Continue along Frazer Rd which after 2 klm becomes Marnane Rd. The retreat is located approx 7 km from the Kennedy Highway at 355 Marnane Rd.

We have a large timber sign at our entry with a street light. You will see a long drive going up the hill and a windmill half way along our drive.

Follow the sign to reception at the top of the drive.

Directions via the Palmerston Highway

Driving time from Innisfail approx 1 hr 45 min to Allawah Retreat

Heading north from Innisfail on Highway 1 take the left turn into Palmerston Highway , follow signs to Millaa Millaa, Atherton Tablelands (Highway 25).

Continue through Millaa Millaa and follow signs to Malanda & Atherton.

Continue through Atherton on the Kennedy Highway and follow signs to Mareeba.

After driving through a small section of rainforest approx 1 km north of Atherton you will approach Tolga. Turn left into Tate Rd just past the 60 km speed sign (the Tablelands Motor Inn is on the right). Continue along Tate Rd (becomes Equestrian Drive ) for approx 4 km.

At the T-intersection turn left into Marnane Rd. There is a sign here pointing you to Allawah Retreat. Continue for approx 3 kms.
The retreat is located at 355 Marnane Rd.

You will see a long drive going up the hill and a windmill half way along our drive. At the top of the drive, follow the sign to Reception.

Directions via Gillies Highway

Driving time from Cairns to Allawah Retreat via Gillies Highway approx 1hr 25min

Follow directions from Gordonvale to Yungaburra and Atherton. Then proceed north along the Kennedy Highway towards Mareeba, using the latter part of the directions above, for the Palmerston Highway route.
